The Development Education Network-Liberia (DEN-L) with funds from Landesa has been involved with the Land Rights Sustainable Development (LRSD) project to secure land rights for local communities – women and youth including those that are marginalized. This project brings together major community stakeholders – landlords, local leaders (present and past local government officials), women, youth, physically challenged and other community residents to increase their capacity on land rights issues – the Land Rights Law, Gender, Leadership and Conflict Mediation. Phase one of this project was successfully implemented in three communities in Bong and Lofa Counties with recommendations to deepen the skills, knowledge and awareness of the project beneficiaries and also extend the project coverage in year two, to increase the number of beneficiaries and opportunities for achieving the overall goal of the project.
