IRC concludes operations in Liberia with donation to partners!

As the International Rescue Committee (IRC) concludes operations after many years of professional humanitarian work in Liberia, the IRC has donated some of its assets to some national and local partners. Among the donations, DEN-L was given one of its purchased 2015 used Toyota Land Cruiser three used AG-100 YAMAHA motorbikes, and other office furniture. The estimated total cost of all the materials donated is US$18,000.00.  Presenting the donation certificate to Mr. Mohammed Karama, head of the logistics department of IRC, on behalf of the Sr. Management thanked DEN-L for the partnership and said it was the IRC way of supporting DEN-L’s humanitarian work in Bong County and Liberia at large.

For his part, the Executive Director of DEN-L, Mr. Peter S. Dole, expressed his gratitude to the Sr. Management of IRC not only for the donation but for a partnership that expanded DEN-L’s horizon in the humanitarian space.  Mr. Dolo reassured IRC of  DEN-L’s commitment to serving the people of Liberia and promised that the assets donated would be used for the intended purpose. “While it is true that you are leaving Liberia now, we believe you will return soon so, please keep DEN-L in your heart”. Peter S. Dolo remarks.

DEN-L’s active relationship with IRC started on 16th Oct of 2016 on a USAID-funded community health project “Partnership for Advancing Community-based Services-PACS). At the end of the PACS project 2020, both institutions re-anchored their relationship with the Community Health Activity (USAID-CHA) funded again by the American Government in February 2021 till December 2024. Both partners implemented community health activities in Bong County with close collaboration with the Bong County Health Team, primarily strengthening community health structures and systems and providing curative services with children under five years and pregnant women being their first-line beneficiaries.
