As a way of strengthening and building the capacity of Community Forest stakeholders, Multi-Stakeholder Forest Governance Accountability Project (MFGA) in collaboration with the Development Education Network-Liberia (DEN-L) is conducting a fifteen day need assessment with community Forest groups in five Counties, including Montserrado County, with the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the Deputy Director for programs at DEN-L, the need assessment phase two will focus on project achievements, gaps, challenges, and propose recommendations to MFGA.
Mrs. Beatrice K. Sondah noted that the assessment team will visit and have discussions with Community Forest groups in Grand Cape Mount, Margibi, Grand Bassa, and Lofa counties, respectively.
The DEN-L Deputy Director for Programs named two community forest groups in Grand Cape Mount as MARBOM and GOLAKONNAH, while BLUYEAMA in Lofa, BEYANPOYE in Margibi, and ZU-ZOHN in Grand Bassa County #2.
Meanwhile, the need assessment, which starts in December, is expected run up to January 2026 with a report informing MFGA and Donor partners for phase two of the project implementation.
